Volunteers
It
takes dozens of volunteers and hundreds of hours to create community
through artmaking. We thank our community volunteers for supporting
the following activities.
A
very special thanks to former Board Treasurer Claudia
Regan for volunteering as our main money guru.
Bake Sale
-- we made over $700 in the bake sale tent! Many thanks to all
of our Facebook friends for bringing in treats. A special thank
you to former Board President Monica Frakes and husband Ralph
for going all out in the Board/Bake Sale tent all day.
Artmaking
tents -- numerous volunteers staffed two large tents
all day, to help standing-room only kids and adults make gorgeous
and outrageous art projects. The giant newspaper hats were a huge
success.
Parade
-- Planners, samba dancers and teachers, musicians, mask and puppet-makers
and, of course, those wonderful folks who marched in the parade.
Publicity
-- We thank all of you from local radio and TV stations,
newsletters and newspapers, neighborhood associations, shops and
restaurants, web savvy bloggers and Facebook aficionados for helping
to get the word out.
Event Organizers
-- huge kudos to the committee volunteers for dreaming
up the best Folk Art Festival yet, for providing vendor support,
taking videos, setting up tents and stages, and for decorating
the park, fountain, trees, and tents with pitchy patchy.
Entertainers
OFFCenter's
volunteer Entertainment Coordinator Bonnie Bluhm crafted a roster
of local talent that kept us dancing all day long. Brother Terry
Bluhm orchestrated the sound system.

Martinez and Oti Ruiz -- Traditional Latin American
The Rogue

Arts & Crafts Vendors
We welcomed a diverse group
of artisans who created handmade arts and crafts using flowers,
glass, leather, clay, paper, wood, metals, fabric and even trash!
Our visitors treated themselves to face painting, jewelry, sculptures,
recycled and altered art, masks, suncatchers, glass beads, ornaments,
handmade clothing, candles, and statues.
We want to see you all back
next year! We are already brainstorming ways to make your day
even better.
