Historical Bookbinding: Byzantine Binding
The Historical Bookbinding Workshop series will teach three historical styles of bookbinding: Coptic, Ethiopian, and Byzantine.
Class 1 will be Coptic, Class 3 will be Ethiopian. Not necessary to take all 3 classes in the series. Class 1 is very beginner friendly. Classes 2 and 3 will benefit from prior experience with Coptic bookbinding (which they will get in class 1), but it's not absolutely required. Participants must be able to hold & manipulate a needle.
In this second class in the series, students will learn how to make a blank notebook with a Byzantine stitch binding. It is recommended to take the Coptic stitch class (or have previous Coptic stitch experience) before taking this class.
