A New Mexico native, Mary had early dreams of being a commercial artist (back before computer graphics), but realized she’d never be more than thoroughly mediocre. She subsequently held a wide variety of jobs, including executive positions for strategic planning, marketing, and product development in several global technology corporations. She then was a consultant, with clients ranging from companies such as Hewlett-Packard to tech start-ups to sole proprietor artisans. Non-profit clients included Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity and The Loan Fund. Prior to joining OFFCenter in 2019, Mary was Development Director for the Coe Center for the Arts in Santa Fe. She does her best to live her personal mission statement, “Make a difference and have fun doing it.”
Ashley (on the right) is lead for inquiries re art boxes for groups. Ashley moved to Albuquerque in 2015. OffCenter was one of the first places she visited where she started as a volunteer on projects including the Folk Art Festival and facilitating a collage group. She is a mixed media artist and loves to interact with the community in and outside of OffCenter. You’ll also often see her in our First Friday puppet parades!
Asenath (on the left) is lead for the Art Supply Commons and our new print shop. Asenath is an agender mixed heritage Peruvian and Finnish, multidisciplinary artist born on Coast Salish/ Duwamish land, aka Seattle. Asenath’s creative practices include painting, drawing, print-making, embroidery, sewing, music production, writing and more. The artwork that they create is inspired by their personal experiences of intersecting identities, transformation of oneself, and working with their community to organize for collective liberation. Asenath is passionate about promoting community engagement in the arts and is thrilled to be working as a Program Manager at OFFCenter Community Arts Project for this reason.
