In this two day Mosaic Art class, you will learn about design, tools and methods and will create your own unique, 7" x 7" indoor mosaic piece. No experience is necessary!
You should develop the skills and confidence to go on to create all kinds of mosaics, including outdoor pieces, murals, backsplashes, etc. on your own. Warning: Mosaic Art is Addictive!
Day 1: We will work on design, learn about adhesives and tools, and practice cutting tiles. You should have time to finish your piece in class.
Day 2: We will grout your beautiful, varied pieces, admire, and photograph them! After grouting, the instructor will describe and demonstrate a number of other mosaic techniques, tools and materials - including thinset mortar - used for outdoor mosaics like wall murals, garden sculptures, birdbaths, etc.
This is a two-session class with slightly different meeting times each day:
