Weekly Workgroups

OffCenter hosts seven different weekly, drop-in workgroups. Free. No registration required, just come to the studio and join in the fun!

Monthly Drop-Ins

Our Monthly Drop-Ins are on Thursday evenings from 6-8 pm, with a rotating schedule of focused art nights. Free. No registration required.

We’re currently catching up on previously submitted workshop proposals. We aren’t accepting new class proposals at this time.

Classes & Workshops

OffCenter hosts a wide variety of classes and workshops. Class sizes are limited, so pre-registration is always recommended, and sometimes required. Tiered pricing, with free options.

Workgroups & Weekly drop in events

OffCenter also hosts free weekly workgroups, focused on a variety of art mediums. No need to register for these, you are welcome to just drop in.

Materials are provided, or bring our own works in progress. All abilities welcome. Find details on age guidelines under each workgroup listing below.

Writing Group

Mondays, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Mandy Gardner facilitates a supportive, safe space for writers to let their pens fly freely. Join the group for prompts to get you writing poetry and prose! There are no wrong ways to write. Read more from the Writing Group here! *Age 18+ please.

Puppet Theater Group

Tuesdays, 12:30-2 p.m.
Joe Munley and his puppet players spin tales of mayhem, love and adventure every Tuesday afternoon at OffCenter. Join the crew to write, rehearse and perform their next puppet play! All-ages. Participants under 16 must have an adult with them.

Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Work on your own printmaking projects + build community in the OC Printmaking Shop! Printshop coordinator Zimmy will be on hand to answer questions & offer project support for your works in progress.

Open Sew Drop In & Fiber Art Group

Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m.Free, no registration required. Make a donation to sustain Open Sew here!

Bring in your own project or start something new using our fabric and materials. Need help navigating a sewing machine? Or just need space to spread out your project and create? Join us for a free, weekly evening sewing time facilitated by our skilled staff & volunteers!

Fiber Art Group is now meeting during Open Sew!
Drop in to join crafters and fiber artists in working on your fiber art projects! Bring your own project or start something new with OffCenter’s free materials! Knit, weave, crochet, stitch, knot, felt…

All-ages. Participants under 16 must have an adult with them.

Monthly Quilt Block of the Month Club - meeting during Open Sew!
Each month - on the third Wednesday - meet with Nic and other quilters to learn a quilting technique and build a new quilt square! Quilt Block patterns provided with options for quilters of all experience levels.

Third Wednesdays, during Open Sew, at 6:15 pm.
Next meet up: Wednesday, May 20. Note: June meet up will be on the 4th Wednesday, June 24.

Card Making & Collage Group

Thursdays, 3-5 p.m.
Making funky collage cards is elevated to fine fun during our free weekly drop-in Card Making Group facilitated by Sally Bergen.  Participants can keep their creations or donate the cards they make to OffCenter. All materials are provided.

All-ages. Participants under 16 must have an adult with them.

Drop In & Draw!

Saturdays, 10 a.m. to noon
Join long-time OffCenter teacher David Blecha for a weekly drawing workgroup on Saturday mornings! We’ll alternate between working from still life set-ups and drawing prompts, with opportunities for individual work and collaborations. Whether you consider yourself an advanced artist or if you think: “I can’t draw!” - come play with drawing with us!

All-ages. Participants under 16 must have an adult with them.

Rotating art nights on Thursday evenings from 6-8 pm offer an opportunity for focused work & playful exploration in your creative practice.

Strengthening Creativity - Monthly Drop In Class

Second Thursday of the month, 6-8 p.m. Free, no registration required. Make a donation to sustain free drop in workshops here!

NOTE: in 2026 Strengthening Creativity will meet on the FIRST Thursday of the month. There is not a group meeting on Thursday, January 1, as OffCenter will be closed for New Years Day.

This drop in monthly workgroup focuses on strengthening the creative muscle. Perfect for those who feel like they have lost their creativity or just want to find new ways to expand their creative expression. We will explore integrating creative practices in everyday life in this peer sharing group.

Artful Journal - Monthly Drop In Class

Third Thursday of the month, 6-8 p.m.

Join in for some super creative hands-on making in our new monthly journal making group at OffCenter with artist and teacher, Michelle Holdt! Build or "Hack" your own creative journal and then learn a few simple sketching and poetry exercises to start to put “yourself into your book!”

Puppet Crew - Monthly Drop In Class

Third Thursday of the month, 6-8 p.m. Free, no registration required. Puppeteers and puppet makers of all skill levels welcome.

Join OffCenter’s master puppeteer and puppet-maker, Ashley, in this drop in group to make, play, and talk about all things puppet related.

The OffCenter Arts Puppet Crew is an all-ages drop in group for puppeteers of all skill levels to network, talk about your puppets, make puppets… Join the fun, develop your puppet skills, learn to create and restore puppets, and have the opportunity to perform with other puppeteers at community events!

Open Paint - Monthly Drop In Class

Second Thursday of the month, 6-8 p.m.

Free, no registration required. Make a donation to sustain free drop in workshops here!

Join Pamela Heater and other painters at OffCenter for studio time to work on your personal painting projects.  Bring work to complete or start new work.  Pamela will be there to join you in painting and provide guidance and advice as requested.  In addition, there will be a painting prompt and/or activity to stir your creative juices.

Bring in your own supplies or use paint, brushes, and materials from OffCenter! Water-based paints only please.
