Historical Bookbinding: Ethiopian Binding

The Historical Bookbinding Workshop series will teach three historical styles of bookbinding: Coptic, Ethiopian, and Byzantine.

In this third class in the series, students will learn how to make a blank notebook with an Ethiopian style binding. It is recommended to take the Coptic stitch class (or have previous Coptic stitch experience) before taking this class.

Class 1 will be Coptic, class 2 will be Byzantine. Not necessary to take all 3 classes in the series. Classes 2 and 3 will benefit from prior experience with Coptic bookbinding (which they will get in class 1), but it's not absolutely required. Participants must be able to hold & manipulate a needle.

At OffCenter Community Arts Project, 808 Park Ave SW, ABQ.

Tiered pricing: Free $0 / Base $15 / Core $30 / Supporter $60
