Teen Print Series: Monotype, Cyanotype & Drypoint Etching

In this three-day teen workshop you'll learn three different printmaking techniques: monotype, cyanotype, and drypoint etching.

Day 1 - Intro to Monotype Printing: Learn a quick and easy method for printmaking with an etching press! Prints can be made in as little as five minutes, and every print is unique.

Day 2 - Intro to Cyanotype Printing: Print with light by exploring this photo-printing process! We’ll use plants, stickers, and other objects to play with shapes through cyanotype. This process produces striking blue and white images.

Day 3 - Intro to Drypoint Etching: This class will offer an introduction to drypoint etching, a chemical-free way to create printable etchings! Participants will have a chance to create their own plate, then print it on the print shop’s etching press. This process is a fun and intuitive introduction to intaglio printmaking.

No prior printmaking experience necessary. Motor skills similar to holding a pencil required.

All materials provided. Open only to ages 12-19.
