Figure Drawing Workshop Series
This workshop series will help artists develop both figure drawing and drawing from still life skills.
Create in a calm and focused atmosphere. We will practice simple but powerful drawing skills, such as blind contour drawing and gesture drawing, using short 10–15 minute timed exercises to help build confidence and expressive movement. Over the sessions, everyone will create a small portfolio to see their progress - from the first drawing to the last.
Participants will draw on large newsprint paper at standing easels. This setup supports good posture and makes it easier to switch from pencil lines to paint brush strokes. (Standing or use of a high stool or chair will be our starting set-up. Accommodations can be made as needed to adjust to different bodies’ needs. Reach out ahead of the workshop with questions.)
