Fukurotoji: Japanese Stab Stitch Bookbinding
Japanese stab stitch binding, fukurotoji, has been a popular style of binding books in China, Japan, and Korea since the 13th century, and for good reason: it's gorgeous!
The method of stitching can be as simple or complex as you choose, and many designs are possible. It's also an excellent way to bind loose pages together. In this class, we'll focus on the easiest method, and instructions will be provided for 3 additional designs for students to try at their leisure.
Beginner friendly; no bookbinding experience is required, though it is helpful if you know how to hand sew. Registration required.
