Star Lantern Workshop

Learn how to make a star lantern to brighten your winter. In this free drop-in workshop, you will learn how to make a small hand-held star lantern from paper and cardboard; use affordable/low-tech battery lights; and mount your star lanterns on a pole. The star lantern is based on the Philippine holiday tradition of making paper star lanterns called “parol”.

On December 5, during ABQ Artwalk you can exhibit your lanterns in a community lantern walk!

All materials (including lights) will be provided. This workshop is sponsored by the City of Albuquerque Public Art Division and 2025 City Brights III.

Saturday, November 22, 2:30-5:30 pm

At OffCenter Community Arts Project, 808 Park Ave SW, ABQ.
